Hi folks!
I guess you all know this and maybe it's on the site but I couldn't find it but...how do you pronounce her surname? Is it "Row-per" or "Roo-per"? I just don't want to look a moron if I raise her name in conversation
Thanks for your help.

I always said it as Roo-per, but good question, now you made me wonder too.
PS. Are you Swedish?

Hej, Maraja! Nej, I am British but I visited Sweden. I wondered about pronunciation because I haven't heard JR's name spoken on tv and there is a radio presenter here with the same surname who pronounces her own name "Row-per" - so, I was confused. But I guess Nikki knows best! Thanks, Jag

lmao! guys, i have to correct myself:
It's ROE per.. not rooooper. The spelling is from an ancient French name which was Rosper and changed to Roper but for some strange reason spelt with 2 o's!
sorry :-)

So the radio presenter and JR both say "ROE-per" (or "ROW-per") not "ROO-per". Ok, now I feel I can bring her name up in conversations without looking an idiot... Thanks!

I just listened to her interview on BBC America's website and she pronounces her last name as "Rue-per".
