Last night was the "season finale" on BBC America - they advertised that "HEX Season Two returns Summer 07". The broadcasts here have fudged a little bit on the original series format - what they're calling a season here included all of series 1 and several eps of series 2 (up through Azazeal's torture of Ella resulting in her removal from the school). I'm not sure where that falls in the overall lineage of the show, as I've tried to remain spoiler free. I knew this would be the last "new" broadcast for a while, I just didn't think that they'd be taking an entire year off. I'll miss my Thelma. Wish I'd thought to save the early eps on the DVR - would've if I'd known that it would be a year before I could see these characters again.

Huh! Yeah! They did exactly the same thing with Xmas!!
But hey, all good things are worth waiting for... (I keep telling myself)
And by the year 2008 there could well be a third series to screen, due to popular demand.... well Nikki, you never know..LOL.

Huh! Yeah! They did exactly the same thing with Xmas!! Haha!! I don't see a reason for them to make you wait that long as they obviously must have bought both series 1 and 2 already. Okay if they made you wait a couple of months... but a year? Pfft.

It's because we don't have seasons in the UK we have whole series.
Series are filmed in blocks with no break or hiatus in the middle of runs and generally you don't have to wait a few weeks between new eps because they're either all pre filmed or they just catch up to themselves as the episodes are aired.

exactly. Usually the only time they'll take mid series breaks on something is if there's a big sporting event on or if they show is being moved to a new slot. (usually if the ratings are poor)
